These sessions can be focused on reading and phonics, writing or maths, or we can combine these areas within the time available (I suggest one hour weekly). Before the first lesson, I will schedule a phone consultation with you to find out what you are hoping to achieve from our sessions and to answer any questions you may have.

In our first session, I will carry out some informal assessments of your child’s current attainment and get to know them as a learner. Some areas we might work on in our sessions are:
– phonics (decoding for reading and encoding for spelling)
– reading fluency and comprehension
– arithmetic including multiplication tables
– maths problem solving

All children have their own strengths, challenges and preferred ways of learning. I have extensive experience of teaching children with a range of needs and abilities. I am confident that through enjoyable and engaging sessions, with a focus on knowing and remembering more, I can make a positive difference in your child’s learning.
